About: THE NINTH HOUR is a live rock-noir operetta inspired by the timeless Beowulf, one of the oldest works in the Western canon, that explores the dynamics of good/evil and power/violence, and the fine line distinctions that often define those terms. THE NINTH HOUR combines incredibly memorable songs with high-fashion style and fiery movement. It takes an Old English epic poem and brings it powerfully into the 21st century using an edgy aesthetic and provocative visuals.
Production History: THE NINTH HOUR premiered at the Met Cloisters in June 2019 as part of the Met Live Arts Series.
